CLEVELAND, OH — The Orca secured the World Championship with a 28-13 victory over the Centurions on January 23, 2028, at home under head coach James Jimenez. The win culminates a solid team effort marked by a dominant ground attack and opportunistic defense.

Trailing 7-0 early in the second quarter after a touchdown pass from Centurions quarterback Paul Ponder to Andrew Castillo, the Orca quickly responded. Andre Silva threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to William Brown, who also contributed a rushing touchdown during the game, to tie the score at 7-7. James Rogers successfully converted both extra points.

Orca running backs Christopher Pruett, Roy King, and fullback Lance Wight were instrumental in the ground game. Pruett rushed for 82 yards, King added 65 rushing yards and five receiving yards including a touchdown reception, while Wight contributed 55 rushing yards and two receiving touchdowns.

After the teams traded field goals, Orca took control in the fourth quarter. Lance Wight punched in a 25-yard rushing touchdown early in the period, executed just after a critical forced fumble recovery by Stephen Lewis, which halted a Centurions drive. Roy King later extended the Orca lead with a five-yard rushing touchdown. James Rogers maintained a perfect extra point record throughout the game, converting all four attempts.

Defensively, the Orca recorded one sack and forced one fumble, which they recovered. Ponder completed 23 of 30 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted once by the Orca defense. Thomas Moore, the Centurions kicker, was successful on two field goals but missed three attempts, including a critical one early in the first quarter and another in the fourth.

The Orca controlled the clock with 216 rushing yards on 30 carries compared to the Centurions' 128 yards on 34 carries. Penalties were higher for the Orca at six for 51 yards versus two for 25 yards for the Centurions.

Orca owner awest827 commented on the team’s performance: “Our ground game and key plays in the fourth quarter made the difference. Stephen Lewis’s fumble recovery was a turning point that set us up to pull away in the final minutes.”

The Orca finish the 2027 season as World Champions, delivering a comprehensive team effort under Coach James Jimenez’s leadership.
